Marketing Tools for Partners

Take advantage of marketing tools that let you market offers outside of the main rewards-experience.

Marketing Use Cases

Some of the most common marketing use cases along with the appropriate Cardlytics tools are described below. To explore and discuss other use cases, reach out to your Bank Success Manager.

General Program Awareness

Display a subset of available offers to customers through email, push notification or in-line communications to promote general platform awareness and engagement.

How it works

  • Pull offer details and logos (see guidelines below) from Ad Server
  • When customer clicks through the communication, deep link customer to their rewards feed inside the publisher experience
  • Note: For publishers with a heavy desktop presence, Cardlytics has a Cardlytics-owned lightly authenticated experience that allows customers to click through, view and activate offers without logging into their account.

Objective-based Marketing

Display a subset of available offers to a pre-defined group of customers based on platform engagement.

Examples:

  • Drive program awareness for new customers.
  • Generate alerts for all customers who enrolled in program in last X days (90 day default).
  • Drive engagement for inactive customers.
  • Generate alerts for all customers who have not logged in the last X days (30 day default)

High-Level Flow

The high-level flow is described below.

  1. From the Engage tool, the Publisher configures the desired objectives, categories.
  2. Cardlytics generates a notification package based on the objectives at the schedule frequency.
  3. Cardlytics delivers the notification package to a shared location.
  4. Publisher pulls the Customer ID list from the notification package.
  5. While generating marketing communication, the Publisher retrieves top offers from the Ad-Server, using the Ad-Server API.
  6. Publisher inserts top offers in the communication message.
  7. Customer engages with the communication, deep-linking them into the rewards section of the Publisher-app
  8. Publisher-app initiates request to the Ad-Server to retrieve fresh, relevant offers.

Marketing Notification Data

Notification Alert Package

The Marketing Notifications Alert Package is the result of a pre-defined process. Each CustomerList file includes the SourceCustomerID and generates a snapshot in time for qualifying customers. This package is optimized for regularly scheduled CRM-type emails.

Package content:

  • One description file
